Taiwanese Defense Ministry criticizes CCP for playing both hands through military exercises to solidify threat rhetoric.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated that the Chinese Communist Party, on one hand, through actions such as long-distance maritime voyages, joint combat preparedness patrols, and missile test launches (referred to as missiles on the mainland), is intimidating neighboring countries and displaying a mindset of resorting to force when necessary. On the other hand, they use military dialogues to create an illusion of peaceful dialogue. This tactic reflects the dual strategy of playing both peace and war, which solidifies the theory of the “China (CCP) threat.”

On September 25th, the Chinese Communist Party’s Rocket Force successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile carrying a training simulated warhead into the Pacific Ocean. This marks the first time in 44 years that China has launched an intercontinental ballistic missile into the sea.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated today (26th) that as of 8 a.m., a total of 29 sorties of various types of Chinese aircraft, including J-16s, KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft, and drones, were detected carrying out maritime activities. Among them, 21 sorties crossed the median line and its extension, entering the airspace of northern, central, and southwestern Taiwan, in conjunction with naval vessels conducting “joint combat preparedness patrols.” The national defense forces closely monitored and appropriately deployed reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.

The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense explained that while the commander of the People’s Liberation Army’s Southern Theater Command visited and conducted “military exchanges,” forces in the Eastern Theater Command conducted multiple waves of live-fire exercises in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea near Japan and the Korean Peninsula, highlighting the authoritarian regime’s lack of policy stability and its aggressive nature. This poses a serious challenge to neighboring countries.

“In response to the comprehensive enhancement of Chinese military power and the significant reduction of our strategic warning time, the national defense forces will continue to strengthen military preparations, enhance asymmetric deterrence capabilities, and deepen the patriotic beliefs of officers and soldiers to build a reliable military force and defense resilience to defend national sovereignty and the safety of the people,” emphasized the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense.

The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense released the dynamics of Chinese military aircraft around the Taiwan Strait this morning. From 6 a.m. on the 25th to 6 a.m. today, 43 Chinese military aircraft (34 of which crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait into southwestern and eastern airspace) and 8 Chinese naval vessels continued their activities around the Taiwan Strait. The national defense forces are closely monitoring and responding with reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.

On the 25th, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense stated that since 7:10 a.m., a total of 23 sorties of various types of Chinese aircraft, including J-16s, KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft, and drones, have been detected carrying out maritime activities. Among them, 22 sorties crossed the median line extension into southwestern and eastern airspace of Taiwan, conducting “long-distance maritime voyages.” The national defense forces simultaneously monitored recent concentrated missile shooting exercises by the Chinese military, using joint reconnaissance methods to closely monitor and appropriately deploy reconnaissance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.
