Taiwanese Cuisine and Creative Market Taiwan Yes! to Debut in New Jersey on 8.30

【Epoch Times August 23, 2025 News】New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and other Taiwanese groups will host a large outdoor market featuring Taiwanese cuisine and creative products at the “Taiwan Yes! Market” on August 30th (Saturday) in New Jersey for the first time, showcasing Taiwan’s soft power and adding lively atmosphere to the Labor Day weekend.

The organizers, New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey branch of the World Chinese Business and Women’s Management Association, announced on August 21st that they would host the grand Taiwan Day event – Taiwan Yes! Market in New Jersey for the first time. Vice General Planner Lin Yingjun stated that this creative idea was proposed by Director Li Zhiqiang of the Economic Department in New York – he suggested to several responsible persons of overseas Taiwanese organizations, “Passport to Taiwan” has been held in Manhattan for over 20 years, there are many Taiwanese expatriates in New Jersey, why not organize one in New Jersey? Therefore, fellow compatriots took the initiative to organize it enthusiastically, and after two months of preparation, it is finally about to be unveiled. The name Taiwan Yes! is powerful, catchy, and the word “Yes” sounds like “night market”, and “Taiwan Night Market” is world-renowned.

Former President of the New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, Chung Wenzhong, introduced that there will be 28 Taiwanese food stalls, 8 handmade creative markets, stage performances, a Taiwan cultural zone, and more. Eating, drinking, enjoying, artistic performances, you name it, will make you feel like you’re back at a “Taiwan night market” in seconds.

Some of the Taiwanese food stalls include: pearl milk tea, braised pork rice, authentic salt and pepper chicken, Taiwanese style noodle soup, sushi, Taiwanese sausage, red bean cakes, guabao, and more.

The stage area will feature performances by students from the Princeton Chinese School, including ethnic dances, pop music, diabolo spinning, and a band performance by Apple Rock.

The handmade creative market will showcase exquisite Taiwanese handicrafts, creative items, and original design products, each booth offering a pleasant surprise.

The Taiwan cultural zone will present a spectrum from traditional customs to modern creativity, allowing you to delve into the charm and stories of the beautiful island of Taiwan.

President of the New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, Cai Qinghui, and President of the World Chinese Business and Women’s Management Association New Jersey branch, Liang Wanrong, stated that through this event, they intend to showcase the connection between Taiwan and New Jersey, highlight Taiwan’s soft power, let the world see Taiwan, and allow the second generation to understand Taiwan and Chinese culture.

Director Wang Yiru of the New York Cultural and Educational Service Center expressed hope for enthusiastic participation in this event to experience Taiwanese culture, cuisine, and creativity.
