Taiwan Tourism’s New Brand Showcased at International Cruise Exhibition, Warmly Inviting Travelers to Visit Taiwan

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s newly upgraded tourism brand, “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder,” made its debut at the annual Seatrade Cruise Global event in the cruise industry. Embracing the new concepts of Share, Discover, Engage, Enjoy, the Bureau aimed to attract more international cruise liners to plan stops in Taiwan and encourage more global travelers to explore Taiwan as a tourist destination that integrates nature, culture, innovation, and sustainable development.

This year, the Taiwan Pavilion featured interactive exhibitions showcasing Taiwan’s transformation in tourism towards core values of sustainability, innovation, and experiences. It highlighted Taiwan’s growth potential as a significant emerging player in the Asian cruise market and allowed attendees to experience the diverse cultural charm of Taiwan, its commitment to sustainable tourism, and a year-round calendar of exciting activities.

Huang Yicheng, the head of the International Division of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, mentioned that under the new tourism brand “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder,” Taiwan is actively promoted as an ideal tourist destination known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and sustainable development. With convenient inland transportation, cruise passengers can easily reach major cities and attractions upon disembarking to explore natural landscapes, diverse cultural heritage, and savor a variety of cuisines.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Seatrade Cruise Global, providing an international platform to establish closer cooperation with international cruise companies and industry partners to attract more international cruise liners to stop in Taiwan.

Zhou Qiuyu, Director of the Miami Economic and Cultural Office, praised Taiwan for its natural scenery, rich festive activities, profound traditional culture, and the warmth and friendliness of its people. With its excellent geographical location, Taiwan is an indispensable destination for Asian cruise tourism, inviting global travelers to experience the local charm by boarding a cruise ship.

Taiwan’s cruise development strategy focuses on attracting multi-port itineraries and “Fly-Cruise” passengers from markets such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, while also actively expanding long-haul source markets from the United States, Europe, and Oceania. Positioned at the hub of Asia, Taiwan offers Asian cruise itineraries that combine cultural depth and sustainable principles. In recent years, Taiwan International Ports Corporation has been actively improving the soft and hard facilities of Taiwan’s ports. The facilities and passenger centers at Keelung Port’s east and west banks and Kaohsiung Port continue to be optimized to provide larger berthing areas and enhance electronic clearance equipment for swift customs processing, ensuring a better travel experience for cruise passengers.
