Taiwan Excellence Unmanned Aircraft Overseas Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA) has announced its participation in an exhibition in the United States, adding another heavyweight ally to its roster. Gideon In-The-Association, Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, pointed out that through close industry exchanges and high complementarity between the US and Taiwan, both sides will be able to reap economic benefits.
TEDIBOA, in a press release today, stated that Chairman Hu Kai-hung led Hanxiong Company, the National Defense Industry Development Association, the Aerospace Association, co-chairman of the alliance’s Joint Chairperson ZhongGuang IntelliRobot, LeiHu Technology, and many domestic drone manufacturers to Texas, USA from May 20th to 22nd to participate in the International Unmanned Vehicle System Exhibition (XPONENTIAL 2025).
According to TEDIBOA, “XPONENTIAL is the most authoritative and influential drone expo in the world. In this landmark event, there is a Taiwan Pavilion where officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of our country also attended, showcasing Taiwan’s vibrant drone development and competitiveness to a global audience.”
The highlight of the first day of the exhibition was the signing of an industrial cooperation memorandum with the Association for Unmanned System International (AUVSI). With the largest global membership from over 60 countries and more than 600 companies, this organization provides a platform to promote members’ technological exchanges and collaborations.
Under the joint witness of Gideon of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), Elaine Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, and Jiang ZhenWei, the Executive Director of International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman Hu Kai-hung of TEDIBOA and AUVSI President Michael Robbins signed the memorandum of cooperation. Subsequently, AUVSI representatives visited the Taiwan Pavilion for in-depth exchanges, laying the foundation for future cooperation.
Moreover, Hu Kai-hung, who also serves as the Chairman of the National Defense Industry Development Association, signed a cooperation agreement with Allyson Carson, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Defense Industry Association (ODIA), with Hsu Yi-Fang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston and Gideon of AIT as joint witnesses. In fact, in September of last year, Oklahoma had already visited Taiwan as the first ally to support Taiwan when the alliance was established. This agreement between the associations further strengthens the close friendship between Taiwan and the United States.
Gideon emphasized that the US and Taiwan are deeply cooperating in advanced manufacturing fields such as AI, semiconductors, and drones. Through close industry exchanges and high complementarity, both sides are expected to benefit economically. Hu Kai-hung also stressed that this connection with the US is an excellent opportunity for technological integration, which can help Taiwan accelerate the development of drone capabilities internally and facilitate alliance members’ access to foreign suppliers’ supply chains.
TEDIBOA stated that they have been tirelessly active recently, having visited Estonia and Lithuania in early May for industrial visits. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China, they have actively been forging international alliances in the US exhibition, creating more opportunities for commercial cooperation in Taiwan’s drone industry.
