The children’s musical theater and dance performance of the Taiwan Center for 2024 spring semester came to a successful conclusion on June 24th (Monday) at the Taiwan Center. At 5:00 PM that day, students performed excerpts from the SpongeBob musical and The Little Mermaid to the enthusiastic applause of the audience.
This end-of-term presentation was a showcase of the students’ hard work and dedication throughout the semester. With their lively performances and excellent dance skills, the children completely captivated the audience. Whether it was the humorous opening song “Bikini Bottom Day” from the SpongeBob musical or the dreamy “Under The Sea” segment from The Little Mermaid, the students performed admirably, earning rounds of applause and cheers from the audience present.
This performance not only showcased the children’s artistic talents and learning achievements but also enhanced their dance skills and taught them the importance of teamwork through rehearsals. By embodying various characters onstage, the children also gained confidence and improved their body language. Teachers and parents were immensely proud of the students’ performances and are eagerly anticipating their future development in the field of arts.
Teacher Zeng Guifang, who is also a professional musical theater performer with extensive experience in Taiwan and New York, expressed her pride in the children’s performances. She said, “We are incredibly proud of these children. Their confidence and energy on stage show the potential of future artists. We thank all the parents and friends who supported and participated in the program and look forward to seeing more outstanding performances from the children in future courses.”
In addition, the Children’s Music Theater and Dance summer course for 2024 is currently open for enrollment, with classes running from July 8th to August 26th (8 sessions, each 1.5 hours). The classes will be held every Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Taiwan Center in New York (137-44 Northern Blvd., Flushing, NY 11354). The cost is $220 (tuition + registration fee) per student.
