On June 19, there will be a celestial event called “Saturn conjunction with the Moon” and “Neptune conjunction with the Moon” to be observed in the sky, according to the Taipei Astronomical Museum.
The Taipei Astronomical Museum announced on its Facebook page that on the morning of June 19, at 11:58 am and 12:27 pm, within less than an hour, there will be the occurrence of the “Saturn conjunction with the Moon” and the “Neptune conjunction with the Moon” celestial events.
When a celestial event called a “conjunction” happens, it means that these two celestial bodies have the same longitude in the sky, and it is usually the moment when these two bodies appear closest to each other.
Although the “Saturn conjunction with the Moon” and the “Neptune conjunction with the Moon” this time will occur during daylight, making observation quite challenging, it is still worth searching for in the southeastern sky before sunrise on that day. Even though it will be difficult, the proximity of Saturn and the moon in the waning phase will create a beautiful celestial sight to behold, the Taipei Astronomical Museum stated.
This rare astronomical phenomenon is definitely something to look forward to for all skywatchers and astronomy enthusiasts, as the alignment of these distant celestial bodies provides a unique and mesmerizing display in the early morning sky. Be sure not to miss this opportunity to witness the beauty of the Saturn and Neptune conjunction with the Moon on June 19.
