A delegation of 11 bipartisan members of the Swedish Parliament visited Taiwan from October 5th to 11th to participate in the National Day celebrations of the Republic of China and to promote deeper substantive exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and Sweden across various fields.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China stated that the “Taiwan-Sweden Parliamentary Association” delegation, led by Swedish Parliament member Alexandra Anstrell, is the largest visiting delegation in recent years, demonstrating the strong friendship with Taiwan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the delegation.
In addition to member Anstrell, the delegation includes Maria Stockhaus, Staffan Eklöf, Alexandra Völker, Hanna Gunnarsson, Ann-Sofie Lifvenhage, Nima Gholam Ali Pour, Johnny Svedin, Malin Höglund, Erik Hellsborn, and Johanna Rantsi – a total of 11 bipartisan parliamentary members.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China stated that during their visit, the delegation will meet with Vice President Lai Ching-te, participate in the National Day celebrations, and attend a banquet hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Chih-chung.
Furthermore, the bipartisan delegation from Sweden will also meet with the President of the Legislative Yuan Han Kuo-yu, Secretary-General of the National Security Council David Lee, Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council Shen Yu-chung, Director-General of the Civil Aeronautics Administration Ho Shu-ping, and representatives from the Institute for National Defense and Security Research and the Taiwan Fact-Checking Center to enhance substantive exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and Sweden across various fields.
