Suzhou restaurant under spotlight for allegedly serving rotten rat meat

Recently, a man surnamed Wu posted online claiming that he found what appeared to be a rotten mouse in the noodles while dining at a restaurant called “Royal Face Vegetarian Noodle House” in Suzhou. This news has sparked attention.

Mr. Wu told “Wu Ji Video,” “When I bit into it, there was something like it broke inside, bursting out thick black juice. This black juice emitted an extremely rotten and putrid smell, and I vomited on the spot.”

It was reported that Mr. Wu found the foreign object in a 166 yuan duck noodle dish, suspected to be a rotten mouse, and he vomited four times.

In response to this incident, the Suzhou Gusu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau stated on August 14 to China National Radio that they are currently investigating the matter. When reporters visited the restaurant in question, they found that the restaurant has been temporarily closed.

Prior to this, a woman posted a video claiming to have bought “Paomo partners” Shuanghui ham sausages to eat with cold skin noodles, but was shocked when she opened it: she found something resembling an eye inside. The topic of “woman claims Shuanghui ham sausages contain eye-like foreign object” went viral online. Meanwhile, Shanxi Province was rocked by a case involving the sale of corpses by a company under the China National Nuclear Corporation, Shanxi Aorui. According to reports, the company purchased over four thousand corpses from crematoriums and hospitals nationwide to produce bone transplant materials, but the whereabouts of the flesh after the corpses were dismembered were not disclosed. Additionally, netizens uncovered news from last year where someone found a human bone nail in a beef bone soup at a restaurant in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province.

These similar incidents have triggered speculation among netizens.

Netizens expressed their concerns, “Just think about it, what happened before this? It’s terrifying.” “Even thinking about going out to eat is scary.” “You never know what you might get in takeout.” “Goosebumps.” “When will Chinese people stop harming each other through food?” “Feels like this is not a simple matter. Could there be organized manipulation of these foods, as there have been frequent incidents of rat head incidents…” “It’s truly frustrating.”
