In recent years, there has been a continuous increase in sudden death cases across China, with a trend towards younger victims. On November 22, Lin Hui, a prominent criminal defense lawyer in Wuhan, Hubei Province, passed away suddenly at the age of only 43.
According to the obituary released by the Hubei Delaisong Law Firm, Lin Hui succumbed to sudden illness despite all efforts to save him and passed away in the early hours of November 22 at the young age of 43.
The obituary introduced Lin Hui, born in April 1982 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, and a graduate student of Guizhou University. He taught at a higher education institution for 7 years and joined a law firm in Hubei as a full-time lawyer in 2022.
Lin Hui’s colleague, Lawyer Huang Zhengzhou, told Jixumu News that around 7 p.m. on the evening of the 21st, Lin Hui suffered sudden cardiac arrest while playing badminton in a residential area in Wuhan.
He said, “Upon hearing the news of Lawyer Lin’s death, myself and other colleagues were deeply shocked. He didn’t smoke or drink alcohol, and he dedicated himself to his cases without any unhealthy habits.”
Currently, Huang Zhengzhou and other colleagues are rushing to Lin Hui’s hometown to offer their condolences.
Lin Hui’s social media account was named “Wuhan Criminal Lawyer Lin Hui,” and his bio stated: “Conscience is the best law! Speaking up for vulnerable groups, handling criminal cases nationwide, specializing in criminal law!”
On the morning of November 16, Xu Haoyuan, a lawyer at the Henan Millennium Law Firm, passed away suddenly at the age of only 30.
On November 15, Liu Naihao, a football teacher at a school in Rizhao, Shandong, passed away suddenly due to a sudden illness at the age of 33.
On September 19, Zhao Han, the founder of the renowned Yunnan cuisine brand “Yunhaiyao,” passed away suddenly due to a heart attack at the age of only 40.
According to public information in mainland China, from May 15 to June 7, 14 university teachers passed away suddenly, many of whom were young adults.
These include Wu Xingxing, an associate researcher at the Guoke Wenzhou Research Institute, who passed away at the age of 37 due to sudden illness at work; Liu Xi, an associate professor at the School of Law and Humanities at Zhejiang University of Technology, who passed away at the age of 44; and Zhang Li, a deputy editor-in-chief at the Social Editing Department of the Book and Information Center at Renmin University of China, who passed away at the age of 41 due to an incurable illness, and others.
In early May, other deaths included Yin Wuming, director of the Department of Art Creation and Practice at the Nanjing University of the Arts, who passed away at the age of 45; Liu Xiangwei, an associate professor at the School of Chemistry at Southwest Jiaotong University, who passed away at the age of 41; Yi Yu, deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of Law at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, who passed away at the age of 45; and Zhao Shifang, a teacher at Henan Polytechnic University, who passed away at the age of 39.
Public information indicates that in recent times, many young celebrities, internet celebrities, and police officers across various regions in China have passed away suddenly.
According to statistics from the National Cardiovascular Disease Center of the People’s Republic of China, there are as many as 550,000 cases of sudden deaths due to heart disease in China every year, with an average of 1,500 people dying from cardiac arrest each day. The age group of 30-63 is the main high-risk age range, with 43% of sudden death victims being under 40 years old.
