Recently, various unusual phenomena have been appearing in the skies in different parts of mainland China. The latest rare occurrence was spotted in the sky of Shenyang, Liaoning Province.
A video surfaced on social media recently, shared by a Shenyang resident, capturing a rare sight – a “mirage” in the sky after a rain shower.
According to Liaoshen Evening News, Mr. Guo, a resident of Shenyang, described that on the evening of June 10th, just before 7 p.m., while it was raining, he sought shelter from the rain in a bicycle shop on Shenliao Road Viaduct in the Tiexi District.
“Shortly after the rain stopped, which didn’t last long,” Mr. Guo said, “the clouds in the sky dispersed, looking quite beautiful. I wanted to capture the post-rain clouds with my phone, and as I was filming, I noticed the outline of a building floating in the sky behind White House.”
“It had a modern style, giving the illusion of floating in the clouds,” Mr. Guo recalled. When he tried to switch to a horizontal recording, the phenomenon disappeared in about 20 seconds.
“I live in Ningguan nearby, so I am familiar with this area, and there are usually no other buildings behind White House,” Mr. Guo said. The building’s silhouette appeared vaguely, with no corresponding actual structures in the vicinity, leading Mr. Guo to believe it could be a mirage.
The next day, Mr. Guo went back to the same location to film from the same angle, confirming that the scene was indeed different from the one he witnessed the day before.
