A Bentley luxury car was stolen in Westport, Connecticut. The vehicle was equipped with a tracking device, allowing the police to recover it in the Queens area and arrest two thieves.
The incident took place around 3 p.m. on December 22. The owner of the 2020 Bentley had parked the car in their driveway with the engine running, intending to quickly retrieve something from the house. However, upon entering the house, they saw several individuals driving off with the car. The Westport police received the report and located the car, but due to its high speed, they decided not to pursue it. Fortunately, the car was equipped with a tracking device that led the authorities to a signal coming from Elmhurst in Queens. The New York City police found the vehicle and apprehended two thieves who were inside the stolen car at the scene. The identities of the thieves have not been disclosed.
A brand new Bentley has a retail price of at least $200,000. According to data from the car evaluation and review website Edmunds.com, a used 2020 Bentley Continental can retail for around $124,000. On December 23, the Westport police indicated that the owner of the luxury vehicle may have been targeted by the thieves, emphasizing the importance of locking vehicles securely.
