Southwest Airlines in the United States announced on Tuesday (June 18) that in celebration of their 53rd anniversary, they are launching a three-day ticket promotion, with some one-way tickets starting as low as 53 dollars.
Passengers hoping to avail of the discounts must book before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Thursday (June 20). The discounted tickets fall under the “Wanna Get Away” fare category and come with the benefit of checking in two bags for free.
According to Southwest Airlines, the $53 one-way tickets are available only on select dates and routes, including flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations.
These discounted tickets are applicable for travel within the continental United States from August 6 to December 18, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with certain blackout dates – September 2, October 14, November 22 to 27, and November 29 to December 2.
For flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations, the offer is valid for flights departing on Tuesdays or Wednesdays between August 20 and November 20, except for September 3.
The fares are applicable for non-stop flights as indicated, and if not marked as a direct service, the promotional rates are only valid for one-way connecting flights.

The seats and markets offered through these discounts are limited, but the fares include all government taxes and fees in the United States and internationally.
