On September 13th, the civil organization “Settlement Project” held a community event in Orange County, inviting 9 guests including 4 school district trustees, members of parent groups, and others to discuss how to eliminate the indoctrination of “woke” ideology in California schools. Participants shared their personal experiences and observations during the event.
Many people have come to realize that there is a problem of radical ideological indoctrination in California’s education system, where reading and math skills are not prioritized, leading to declining academic standards and student performance. Radical projects include teaching elementary students about “systemic racism” or “white privilege,” encouraging children to change their gender identity without parental notification, promoting controversial materials advocating for gender transitions and transgender lifestyles, and silencing dissent by labeling teachers, parents, and school board members as “dangerous” or subjecting them to punishment.
Representatives suggested that residents should focus on their children’s education, speak up at school district and school board meetings, run for school board positions, stay informed on education bills in California, and express their opinions to local legislators, as well as participate in state assembly hearings, and more.
The founder and CEO of the “Settlement Project,” Frank Kaufmann, introduced his new book “Woke Ideology Critique and Counter Proposal,” which was published on Amazon last year. The book explores the origins and development of woke ideology, stating that it claims to address social injustices but is actually the most dangerous ideology to date, inheriting elements of violence and authoritarianism.
Dr. Kaufmann, who has worked in international relations and peace mediation for 42 years, emphasized that we are in a war that targets children and the fate of our nation, with enemies trying to destroy what is integral to our lives – our children and our country. He cited the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, as an example of the high cost that may be paid for defending these values.
According to Kaufmann, there are two types of enemies – external enemies involved in military and diplomatic spheres, and internal enemies focused on ideological control in politics, law, and culture, the battleground where the current fight is taking place.
Kaufmann believes that there are two forms of evil: one that involves crimes such as theft and murder, and another that misleads and possesses individuals through idealized but erroneous ideologies, particularly when it comes to intruding on children. He stressed the importance of understanding who these individuals are, what they are doing, and how they are operating in order to fight this war effectively.
From his perspective, the ideological war revolves around the fundamental question of the existence of a creator: acknowledging a creator implies purpose and order, granting humans freedom, creativity, equality, meaning, empathy, and the pursuit of higher ideals, while denying a creator, as in Marxism, places materialism above God, human souls, and spiritual values.
Kaufmann highlighted the devastating impact that ideologies like Marxism have had with millions and even billions of people being slaughtered or extinguished due to movements like the French Revolution and Bolshevik Revolution. He warned that the “woke” revolution has yet to unleash its full destructive power and has influenced people to believe that a population of 2 billion is the correct number.
He described “woke” ideology as a pathological and bizarre philosophy manifested in racism, gender confusion, diversity, concepts of “social justice,” equity, inclusion (DEI), and censorship systems, leading to absurd scenarios like judges not knowing the definition of women and claims that 2+2=4 is a “cultural phenomenon” during congressional hearings.
In conclusion, Kaufmann emphasized the importance of returning to the founding documents of the United States, such as the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights as the foundation of the nation. He emphasized the necessity of reaffirming the importance of family and nurturing individuals who value freedom, independence, and the pursuit of happiness.
