Southern California Airshow to Take Place at Riverside County Air Force Base This Weekend

This weekend on Saturday and Sunday (12th and 13th), the Southern California Air Show will be held once again at the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, Southern California, rain or shine.

March Air Reserve Base spans the cities of Moreno Valley and Perris in Riverside County, and this year’s air show will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team.

The flying performance will start at 9:30 am and the exhibition will conclude by 5:00 pm. The venue will be open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. There will be no televised broadcast of the event.

Attendees must bring a valid identification issued by the state government. For adults, Real ID is preferred; if you do not have Real ID, a second form of identification will be required. Entering the air show area means agreeing to undergo security checks of your person and belongings.

Admission and parking are free, and visitors can stand or sit on their own blankets or lawn chairs. Audience members can also purchase VIP seating in three different categories online: “Executive Suites” which are outdoor seats in exclusive areas with folding chairs; “Beer Garden”, and “VIP Club”.

An estimated attendance of no less than 400,000 people is expected, so it is advisable to arrive early or carpool to avoid traffic congestion at major intersections. Ear protection is also recommended.

Visitors are allowed to take photos with cameras and phones in designated areas, but the use of drones is prohibited. Drones pose a significant safety risk at air shows. Violators will have their drones confiscated, be ejected from the event, and may face prosecution under applicable federal, state, and local laws. The air show prohibits bringing any dangerous items, including firearms, ammunition, drugs, flammable materials, and radio equipment.
