South Korean star Hyun Bin and his wife Son Ye-jin, who got married in March 2022, are selling their penthouse apartment, where they have lived for only two years, for 7 billion Korean won (approximately $4.7 million or 153 million New Taiwan dollars), according to a report by South Korean media outlet “news1” on the 7th.
According to the real estate registration copy, Hyun Bin purchased the penthouse in a pre-sale at the Hwak Mountain Village in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, for 4.8 billion Korean won (around $3.23 million or 1.05 billion New Taiwan dollars) on June 5, 2020. The apartment has a private area of 330 square meters (about 100 ping), with a total of 4 rooms and 4 bathrooms, including a rooftop garden with a common area of 416 square meters (approximately 126 ping).
The Hwak Mountain Village in Goyang City is known as an artist village, with JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young, singer Cho Seung-mo, and actors Park Hae-mi, Oh Myung-soo, and Han So-hee among those who have made their homes there.
After completing the house handover procedures on January 6, 2021, Hyun Bin paid the remaining balance of the apartment in cash. In March 2022, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin moved into the penthouse after their marriage, starting their newlywed life, and their son was born there in November of the same year.
It is reported that Hyun Bin intends to sell the penthouse for 7 billion Korean won, which is 2.2 billion Korean won (approximately $1.48 million or 48.11 million New Taiwan dollars) higher than the purchase price, within just four years. Hyun Bin has already entrusted a real estate agent to sell the property.
