On Sunday, June 8, a plane crashed about 60 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee in Coffee County.
Preliminary reports indicated that there were 16 to 20 people on board the plane. Some of them have been airlifted to nearby hospitals. The Tennessee Highway Patrol posted on social media platform X on Sunday afternoon that multiple individuals were airlifted to local hospitals, while others were being evaluated on-site.
Authorities stated that the plane crashed at Old Shelbyville Road in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
According to a report from CBS affiliate WTVF in Nashville, four people were taken to the hospital, with two in critical condition and the other two sustaining less severe injuries.
The aircraft was reportedly a skydiving plane from Tullahoma, which crashed after hitting some trees, landing near the Beechcraft Museum.
Local government officials have arrived at the scene, and officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are also en route to conduct an investigation.
