Singer Su Yongkang’s Mainland Concert Faces Boycott, Over Past Drug Possession Scandal

Hong Kong entertainer, Alex Su Wing-hong, originally planned to hold a concert in Wenzhou, Zhejiang on October 6th. All tickets were sold out on Damai website. However, he was reported by netizens for hiding drugs many years ago. On September 16, Damai website showed that there were no “upcoming shows” for Alex Su.

According to reports from mainland media such as “Red Star News,” a netizen posted on Weibo on September 12, reporting to relevant authorities about the “drug-involved artist” Alex Su’s upcoming concert in Wenzhou.

On September 16, Damai website had taken down the relevant show, and the organizers had submitted a cancellation request to the approval authority.

Previously, the Damai website displayed that Alex Su’s “So Live 2025 Tour Concert” would be held on October 6 at the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, with ticket prices ranging from 199 yuan to 699 yuan. All tickets were sold out.

However, on the morning of September 16, searches for information about Alex Su’s Wenzhou concert on Damai website returned no results, indicating a potential removal. The website also showed that there were no “upcoming shows” for Alex Su.

When asked about the status of Alex Su’s concert in Wenzhou, a customer service representative from Damai website replied, “We suggest following the page for updated information.”

Alex Su, born in Hong Kong in 1967, is both a singer and actor. Public records show that in 2002, he was arrested for having drugs in a bar, and after 19 days of forced rehabilitation in prison, he was released. However, despite moving to mainland China for work in 2004, his past is now being brought up again, leading to boycotts of his concerts by mainland netizens.
