Singer Zou Xu, with his debut album “Loose Faucet Turning On Water”, was selected by Apple Music as one of the top 100 songs of the year and a rising star. Recently, he also received recognition as a finalist for Best New Artist in the 35th Golden Melody Awards. As the countdown to the awards ceremony approached, Zou Xu held a small performance to rally his fans.
At the performance, Zou Xu’s boss and leader of the Night Watcher band, Xu Zhang, as well as the experienced seniors in Golden Melody Awards, Chen Rushan & Signal Rain, appeared on stage with Zou Xu. Together, they performed a rearranged version of “When We Are Not Together” by Fourth Quarter, offering blessings and encouragement, creating a warm atmosphere throughout the venue.
During the event titled “Gathering Strength for the Golden Melody Awards”, Zou Xu, armed with an acoustic guitar, performed over 15 songs including “Night Walk” and “While It Rains”.
Zou Xu invited his boss, Xu Zhang, to perform “Another Time” together on stage, where Xu Zhang teased him, saying, “You look a bit nervous.” However, as Zou Xu sang more, he grew more relaxed and even started cracking jokes to entertain his fans.
Zou Xu, who admires Chen Rushan’s voice greatly, even came up with a new nickname for him, “Iron Lung Rushan”. During Chen Rushan & Signal Rain’s performance of “Rain and Tears” and “Wake Up”, Zou Xu accompanied on guitar and provided harmonies.
In the second half of the show, Zou Xu performed the title track of his album, “Turning On Water”, saying, “Today feels like a retrospective before the Golden Melody Awards. It’s like when I competed in contests during my school days and composed this song with my bandmates, it was the start of everything. I’m very happy to spend this evening with everyone, I feel privileged to have collaborated with my bandmates who grew up with me to create this album, stepping into the realm of Golden Melody nominations is a huge encouragement. Thank you all for your messages and blessings. I will stay grounded, and I hope that with everyone’s support tonight, there’s a chance to win an award!”
He also debuted a new song, “Hurry Up Time”, created after joining a new record label this year. He hopes to offer this single to fans as a small escape in their busy lives, a moment to catch their breath.
