Hong Kong’s three-time Hong Kong Film Award-winning actor Anthony Wong has been busy with his recent stage play “Praying Mantis Stalks the Cicada.” Known for keeping his personal life private, he surprised many on May 19 by sharing handsome photos of his 29-year-old son, Wong Yat Yat (formerly known as Wong Yui Ming), on Instagram and Facebook, sparking attention and praise from netizens.

According to Hong Kong media reports, Wong Yat Yat, born in 1996, graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. In 2016, he survived a serious car accident when the private car he was riding in crashed into a tree and flipped over, momentarily stopping his breathing. At that time, Anthony Wong posted a photo of the severely damaged car on social media, expressing gratitude and thanking God for his son’s miraculous survival.

Wong Yat Yat made a cameo appearance in the 2011 film “Revenge,” directed by Lo Wing-Cheung and produced by Johnnie To. In the movie, he acted alongside his father as a father-son pair. However, the second-generation star did not ultimately follow his father’s footsteps into the acting industry.

Reports indicate that Wong Yat Yat is currently working as a manager at a fashion company in Canada. The recent photos shared by Anthony Wong were for his son’s modeling gig with the brand. Anthony Wong, who is of Chinese and English descent, was born in the 1960s. With a career spanning over 30 years, he has acted in over 200 films, won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor three times, and clinched the Best Supporting Actor award twice.
