Siena Poll: 53% of Voters Believe New York City Mayor Should Resign

A recent survey conducted in New York City indicates that more than half of the city’s voters believe that Mayor Eric Adams, who is embroiled in corruption allegations, should resign.

The poll, conducted by Siena College in collaboration with the media, reveals that 54% of voters believe that Adams may have engaged in illegal activities, with an additional 41% to 53% of the public believing that Adams should step down.

At the end of last month, Mayor Adams was officially indicted on five federal charges, including bribery, wire fraud, and accepting campaign donations from foreign nationals.

On the 4th of this month, a poll conducted by Marist College’s Institute for Public Opinion, revealed that 69% of New Yorkers, including 71% of Democrats, think that Adams should resign from his mayoral position, while 30% of the public feel that Adams should finish out his remaining term.

In addition to the issue of Adams’ resignation, the Siena College poll focused on the public safety concerns that matter most to New Yorkers.

The survey shows that 86% of voters believe that crime is a critical issue facing New York City, with 43% of voters believing that “crime is out of control.”
