Shooting Incident in Chicago Leaves 4 Dead and 14 Injured

On Wednesday night (July 2), a shooting incident occurred outside a nightclub in Chicago, United States, resulting in at least 4 fatalities and 14 injuries.

According to Chicago police, around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, a black SUV drove past the “Artis Lounge” nightclub in the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue, with three people shooting at the crowd from inside the vehicle.

It was reported that the nightclub was hosting an album release party for rap artist Mello Buckzz that night, and a large crowd was leaving the establishment when the shooting took place.

Police stated that 4 people died and 14 were injured, with 4 of the injured individuals sustaining serious wounds and receiving treatment at the hospital.

The deceased included two men and two women, aged 24, 25, 26, and 27. The men were shot in the chest and head, and despite efforts to save them after being taken to the hospital, they did not survive. The women were also shot in the chest and succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Authorities mentioned that the age of the injured individuals ranged from 21 to 32, with 11 of the 14 wounded being female.

The shooters fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the incident, and as of now, no suspects have been arrested by the police.

The investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing, with law enforcement continuing the search for the three gunmen.

Video footage showed people waiting outside the hospital and crying. Other visuals displayed multiple police officers and ambulances at the scene of the shooting.

Chicago pastor Donovan Price, dedicated to helping victims of violent crimes, told reporters: “When I arrived last night, it was chaotic, people were screaming, the streets were covered in blood, and individuals were lying on the ground.”

He expressed to reporters: “It was the worst scene I have ever witnessed—people were just trying to locate their loved ones, confirm who was still alive, and find their dropped phones in the chaos.”
