Shooting at Atlanta Shopping Center Leaves 4 Injured

Three people were shot in the food court of a shopping center in Atlanta, the police said on Tuesday, June 11th.

According to the Associated Press, Atlanta Mayor announced that on Tuesday afternoon, four people were shot at a food court in downtown Atlanta, including the gunman.

Mayor Andre Dickens posted on the social media site X that the shooting incident occurred at the food court in Peachtree Center.

In a post, the Atlanta police stated that all four people shot were conscious. Authorities said that one of the four individuals is considered a suspect.

Officials did not immediately disclose who injured the gunman, nor did they reveal the reason for the shooting.

Peachtree Center is a complex of office buildings and underground shopping malls located in a district with several hotels, providing services for Atlanta’s busy conference business.

After the incident, a crowd gathered around a nearby intersection, with many people asking each other what had happened. When police and firefighters arrived at the scene, several blocks of Peachtree Street were cordoned off with crime scene tape.

Elizabeth Ingram, an Atlanta resident, was working in the area and said she heard gunshots.

“We were relaxing for a minute, and then we heard more gunshots,” she said. “So we immediately came back.”
