Shocking Footage Captured by US Police Car: Lightning Strike Creates Fireball and Blue Light.

The South Carolina police recently released a shocking footage of a lightning strike causing a fireball and mysterious blue light, prompting internet users to exclaim “end of the world,” with some questioning if it was a movie scene.

According to WBTV, the Mount Pleasant Police Department in the state of South Carolina shared the video on social media, which was captured by the dashboard camera of their patrol car on Monday, August 11.

The video shows multiple cars driving on Highway 17 in heavy rain. When lightning struck the power line of the local power company, a huge fireball erupted in the sky above the highway. As the shockwave traveled along the power line to the other end, eerie blue light and sparks gushed out, resembling special effects from a movie.

In their post, the police wrote, “Monday was truly exciting!” The lightning strike caused power outages and traffic jams, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Dominion Energy swiftly responded, restoring power and removing the fallen power lines.

A spokesperson for Dominion Energy stated that the lightning strike caused a power outage at the intersection of Highway 17 and Shelmore Boulevard. Approximately 600 households were left without power until it was restored earlier in the afternoon.

The viral footage of the lightning strike sparked numerous reactions from internet users. Some remarked that it looked like a scene from a movie, while others referenced the Armageddon battle of good and evil. Some questioned if the footage was generated by artificial intelligence (AI), with one person responding, “This is not AI. My friend who lives there just sent me the news footage.”

Others thanked the police, saying, “Thank you for making us aware of how dangerous this storm was. Be safe when going out.”
