Shenzhen Menya Kazami Ramen Complaint: Bowl Filled with Flies According to Diners

Recently, a female diner in Shenzhen posted a video showing that she found dozens of small flies in her bowl of ramen at a Umami Ramen restaurant.

According to a report by Li Zhi News, when contacting the Umami Ramen restaurant involved, the staff responded that the small flies might have come from the vinegar bottle, as the smell of vinegar is strong and if not refrigerated promptly, it can attract flies.

Mainland Umami Ramen has previously faced complaints regarding food safety.

On the afternoon of August 3, 2011, a Wuhan resident, Mrs. Yang, dined at an Umami Ramen restaurant on HanKou Zhongshan Avenue and was shocked to find around 20 small bugs in her bowl.

Mrs. Yang reported that the server at the time identified the bugs as “crispy garlic” (a seasoning). Later, she used chopsticks to stir the bowl and found even more bugs. She placed each bug on a cabbage leaf one by one and counted around 20 bugs.

According to Jingchu Net, a reporter from the website visited the ramen restaurant and saw a bowl of ramen with a cabbage leaf on top, covered with sesame seed-sized reddish-brown bugs.

According to the Black Cat Complaint Platform, there have been previous complaints by consumers who found six or seven small flies floating on the surface of their noodles. Additionally, a consumer in Foshan complained that while eating the sour cabbage fish ramen at the Umami Ramen on the fourth floor of Violet Harbor in Wangfujing, Chancheng District, they felt a sharp foreign object stuck in their mouth, and when they spit it out, it turned out to be a sharp piece of plastic.
