Shenyang students collectively return online-purchased dresses, causing shop owner to lose 8000 yuan.

Recently, a shop owner in Heze, Shandong Province, exposed on social media that over 60 students from a vocational and technical school in Shenyang purchased dresses from her online shop, but collectively returned them after participating in a sports event. This action resulted in her online shop being forced to close for three months, with a loss of over 8000 yuan.

According to the shop owner’s post, around April 22nd, students from Liaomei Vocational College placed orders on her online shop, which were delivered around April 24th. However, they did not contact her about any quality issues. Then on the morning of the 26th, they participated in an event wearing the dresses with tags still on, and in the afternoon, they all came to her online shop to request refunds, citing quality problems.

As reported on the Netease account “Entertainment Fun,” the shop owner expressed shock upon receiving the returned clothes, as they were covered in grass stains from the field, indicating they had been worn during the event. Moreover, due to this collective return behavior, her online shop was shut down for three months, resulting in a loss of over 8000 yuan.

Afterwards, when the shop owner contacted the students to understand the situation, she learned that all of this was the teacher’s idea. The students mentioned that they were forced to make the purchases by the teacher, who also said they could return the items afterward, leaving them with no choice. Despite multiple attempts to seek a solution by contacting the school, the shop owner encountered a series of cold responses. Eventually, she chose to expose the situation on social media.

Following the exposure, the incident sparked widespread social attention. The school involved was identified by netizens as a vocational school approved by the Shenyang Education Bureau, established in 2003. On May 3rd, the related topics trended on Weibo.

According to a report on May 3rd by China National Radio, the shop owner stated that the school has apologized for the incident and promised to collect the clothing and cover related expenses. Regarding the closure of her shop, further negotiations with the platform will be conducted.
