Shen Yun’s France Tour of 72 Shows Concludes with Failed Communist Threats.

Renowned worldwide, Shen Yun Performing Arts toured 10 major cities in France in 2024, and its popularity was soaring. During the final stop of the tour, a “bomb threat” was received by a local theater, signed by a person named Wang Jingyu, the same name as a Chinese dissident currently in France. Wang Jingyu himself told Dajiyuan, “This was done by the CCP.” Earlier, he had reported the incident to the French police and intelligence agencies.

Shen Yun Performing Arts held four shows at the Galaxie Theater in Amnéville, a city in eastern France, from May 8th to 10th. The day before the performances, the theater’s website received a threatening message stating, “Please cancel Shen Yun’s performance, otherwise we will put a bomb in the theater.”

According to the French organizers of Shen Yun, the threatening letter was remarkably similar to the intimidating emails received in the US and Canada in April, marking the first such incident in Europe.

On May 7th, following the receipt of the threat letter, the manager of the Galaxie Theater in Amnéville immediately reported to the police. After the police intervened, no bomb was found. With special police patrolling on-site, “there was no need to evacuate any audience,” and the theater successfully held Shen Yun’s four performances as scheduled.

The French media outlet “Le Républicain lorrain” highlighted in its coverage of the incident that Shen Yun’s performances showcase “China before communism” and stated, “Through their dance, artists have revived the charm of ancient China, recounting the country’s prosperity before the Chinese Communist Party came to power.” “Whenever Shen Yun tours around the world, it always faces pressure from the CCP. This pressure not only affects the performance team but also impacts the venues.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts, founded in 2006, aims to revive China’s 5,000-year-old traditional culture through pure and beautiful artistic achievements, gaining the love of French audiences. This year, they toured 10 cities in France, with 150,000 spectators enjoying the performances. The CCP fears Shen Yun, resorting to escalated thuggish tactics, but ending up in failure.
