Shanghai Airport’s General Manager Huang Zhenglin “resigned” yesterday (24th) and was reported to have lost contact. Shanghai Airport is a territory of interest for Jiang Mianheng, the eldest son of the former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, and the company has recently experienced consecutive personnel upheavals.
According to an announcement released by Shanghai Airport yesterday (24th), the board of directors received a written resignation report from director and general manager Huang Zhenglin on October 24. Due to personal reasons, Huang Zhenglin applied to resign from the positions of company director, member of the board’s special committee, and general manager in accordance with relevant regulations. After resigning, Huang Zhenglin has no employment status in the company and its subsidiaries. The company has designated Deputy General Manager Li Zhengjia to assume the duties of company general manager.
Huang Zhenglin served as the general manager of Shanghai Airport for only 9 months since he took office on January 26 of this year.
According to reports from First Financial News, Huang Zhenglin’s phone has been turned off. Several informed sources stated that Huang has not been seen for several days, and he has not responded to inquiries from mainland media reporters on WeChat a few days ago. Huang Zhenglin was also absent from the recent North Bund International Shipping Forum’s sub-forum “North Bund International Aviation Forum,” which was organized by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airport.
Public records show that Huang Zhenglin, born in April 1977, has held positions such as Director of Human Resources at Shanghai Airport (Group) Co., Ltd., Deputy General Manager, and member of the party committee, as well as General Manager of the Human Resources Department and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Airport (Group) Co., Ltd., and Deputy General Manager of Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd. He currently serves as the general manager and director of Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd., as well as the general manager and deputy party secretary of Pudong International Airport of Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd.
It is worth noting that there has been personnel turbulence at Shanghai Airport this year. In January of this year, Director and General Manager Zhang Yongdong retired. In March, the then Deputy General Manager Jiang Xinsheng also left. With Huang Zhenglin’s departure, the position of general manager has once again become vacant.
