SEVENTEEN launches a new beginning with selected album, setting a sales record.

SEVENTEEN, a popular boy band from South Korea, released their best album “17 IS RIGHT HERE” yesterday (29th), marking it as a “new beginning” for them. The album set a record for the highest first-day sales of a K-POP artist’s selected album on the day of its release.

According to data from the Hanteo Chart on the 30th, “17 IS RIGHT HERE” sold 2,269,906 copies on the 29th, not only topping the album chart that day but also setting the record for the highest first-day sales of a K-POP artist’s selected album on that chart.

“17 IS RIGHT HERE” is a culmination album that brings together SEVENTEEN’s past, present, and future. In addition to including 20 Korean hit songs and 8 Japanese album lead tracks in Korean versions from their 9-year debut history, as well as a performance version of their debut song “Adore”, the album also features 4 new songs including “MAESTRO” and unit songs “LALALI”, “Spell”, and “Ode to Youth”, totaling 33 tracks.

During the album release conference on the same day, SEVENTEEN expressed that this selection album not only represents a culmination of their career since debut but it also marks a fresh start for them. Despite almost a decade in the industry trying various endeavors, they believe that approaching everything with the same passion and preparation can bring novelty to their achievements.

Leader S.COUPS (Choi Seungcheol) mentioned that as this album signifies a new beginning, they will move forward with a renewed mindset. He stated that starting with 13 members itself was a challenge and WOOZI, responsible for producing songs, facing the challenge of being an “idol who self-produces” was significant. Over the past decade, with no members leaving the group, SEVENTEEN continued their activities with WOOZI’s music compositions, marking another challenge.

He also expressed how encountering each other as members, maintaining close relationships among many individuals, felt destined. It felt like meeting friends with whom they could spend a lifetime together, sharing both joys and grievances, but being able to laugh about it later, solidifying their bond even further.
