According to incomplete statistics reported by Minghui website, from 2021 to 2023, at least 563 Falun Gong practitioners in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, have been persecuted in various forms. Among them, one person died during the persecution; 21 people were illegally sentenced and extorted a total of 193,000 yuan in fines; 100 people were abducted, illegally detained, or arrested; and at least 441 individuals were harassed.
Here are some examples of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China:
Case 1: Zhao Lin, a retired worker from the Zhangjiakou Grain Machinery Factory and a resident of the Qiaodong District of Zhangjiakou City, was abducted by police officers on April 7, 2020. The police, led by officer Yin Xunguo from the Wuyi Road Police Station of the Qiaodong Branch of Zhangjiakou City, illegally took away Zhao Lin’s computer and confiscated his private belongings along with truth-clarifying materials.
The Qiaoxi District Court of Zhangjiakou City conducted two illegal trials of Zhao Lin on October 13 and November 2, 2020, and sentenced him to three and a half years in prison in December 2020. On March 25, 2022, the detention center notified Zhao Lin’s family that he had been sent to the First People’s Hospital of Zhangjiakou City due to lung problems. It was reported that Zhao Lin was relying on an oxygen machine at the time. On April 2, 2022, Zhao Lin stopped breathing permanently at the age of sixty-nine.
Case 2: On March 16, 2021, Yang Jianlu, a Falun Gong practitioner in Xuanhua District of Zhangjiakou City, was illegally sentenced to eight years by the Xuanhua District Court and fined 10,000 yuan.
Case 3: Zhang Yumei and three other Falun Gong practitioners in Chicheng County were abducted and detained for distributing truth-clarifying materials in the countryside on February 13, 2020.
On June 30, 2021, the Xuanhua District Court falsely sentenced them, with Zhang Yumei receiving a five-year sentence and a 20,000 yuan fine; Chen Fengqing a four-and-a-half-year sentence and a 15,000 yuan fine; Liu Jun a four-and-a-half-year sentence and a 15,000 yuan fine; and Cao Yulian a three-and-a-half-year sentence and a 10,000 yuan fine. They appealed against the false convictions.
On October 16, 2021, the Zhangjiakou City Court did not hold a second trial, did not notify the families, quietly issued a verdict upholding the original false convictions, and on October 19th, without informing the families, sent them to prison for further persecution. Liu Jun was sent to the Jidong Prison in Tangshan City, while Zhang Yumei, Chen Fengqing, and Cao Yulian were sent to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison.
Case 4: On the morning of November 15, 2021, Wang Guiping, a Falun Gong practitioner in Wuxian County, was raided by national security police and had a large number of personal items confiscated. Wang Guiping, who escaped, was abducted on November 22, 2021, and detained in Zhangjiakou Detention Center. In mid-March 2023, she was wrongly sentenced to eight and a half years by the evil party court and has filed an appeal.
Case 5: Falun Gong practitioners Zhang Xia, Zhang Xiuling, and Xing Guohua, aged 75 at the time, were illegally and secretly sentenced by the Zhangbei County Court on May 6, 2022. Zhang Xia received five years and a 30,000 yuan fine; Zhang Xiuling four years and a 20,000 yuan fine, and Xing Guohua three years and a 20,000 yuan fine. Zhang Xia has appealed to the Zhangjiakou Intermediate Court. Xing Guohua and Zhang Xiuling were kidnapped to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison for further persecution on May 7.
Case 6: Li Xinlan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Wanquan District, was kidnapped by Beijing police for spreading truth to the public while staying at her daughter’s house in Beijing to take care of her grandchildren. She was later put under surveillance. In August 2021, Li Xinlan was abducted by Beijing and Xuanhua police while residing at her eldest daughter’s house in Xuanhua, and was wrongfully sentenced to three years upon being taken back to Beijing.
Case 7: Before noon on December 3, 2020, the Luoyang Public Security Bureau from Henan Province, in coordination with the Hebei Public Security Department through the Zhangjiakou Public Security Bureau, abducted Sun Wanshuai, a Falun Gong practitioner in the Fenghuangcheng community of Zhangjiakou City, serving as a “messenger.” His computer and phone were also seized. Sun Wanshuai was illegally detained at the Nanchang Sub-Bureau of the Luoyang Public Security Bureau, allegedly for reposting sensitive content on WeChat. In July 2022, Sun Wanshuai was illegally sentenced to eight years and fined 30,000 yuan.
Case 8: Ms. Lang Dongyue, a Falun Gong practitioner in Yanqing District of Beijing, has been displaced for many years. On December 14, 2021, she was abducted and illegally detained in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province.
On March 8, 2023, Lang Dongyue was illegally tried, but due to unclear facts and insufficient evidence, the trial could not proceed. In July 2023, Lang Dongyue learned that she had been illegally sentenced to nine years and fined 15,000 yuan by the Xuanhua District Court of Zhangjiakou City, and she has appealed to the Intermediate Court. The Zhangjiakou Intermediate Court turned a blind eye to the facts and unlawfully upheld the wrongful conviction.
These are just some examples of the persecution faced by Falun Gong practitioners who have been abducted, raided, and detained.
The law of karma, retribution for good and evil, is being fulfilled. Here is just one example: Former Zhangjiakou Public Security Bureau Director Cheng Weiqing, who actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, met his demise on October 9, 2021, due to a brain tumor at a young age.
During his tenure as Director of Hengshui Public Security Bureau in December 2012, Cheng Weiqing actively followed Jiang Zemin’s persecution of Falun Gong, directly leading, instructing, and organizing the large-scale and long-term harassment, detention, raiding, sentencing, and even torture of Falun Gong practitioners in Hengshui. Cheng Weiqing also orchestrated and directed the “knocking on doors” and “clear-out” actions against Falun Gong practitioners in Hengshui.
On December 26, 2019, Cheng Weiqing was transferred to Zhangjiakou City to serve as Deputy Mayor, Party Committee Secretary of the Public Security Bureau, and Inspector. According to incomplete statistics, in just over a year from 2020 to early 2021 during Cheng Weiqing’s tenure, 118 Falun Gong practitioners in Zhangjiakou had been abducted, with 11 of them illegally sentenced, 26 detained, 53 taken to brainwashing centers, over 100 subjected to illegal raids and robberies, and more than 200 harassed or threatened by police, causing many to become homeless.
While Cheng Weiqing was actively planning to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Zhangjiakou before the Winter Olympics, he succumbed to an incurable brain glioma on October 9, 2021, ending his life at the age of 51.
A word of advice to the Chinese Communist Party officials at all levels, including those from the political and legal system, the 610 Office, procuratorates, and judiciary, as well as the evil policemen directly involved in the persecution in prisons, detention centers, and brainwashing classes: Stop committing evil deeds and crimes. The downfall of the Chinese Communist Party is inevitable in history. Judging from the current international and domestic situation of the CCP, that day will come soon. It is hoped that all those who have participated in the persecution will wake up, assess the situation, stop the persecution, repent, and leave some hope for themselves and their families.
May all the people in China with conscience and justice, as well as relevant international organizations, pay attention to the tragic experiences of Falun Gong practitioners in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, and all Falun Gong practitioners in China. Help the Chinese people thoroughly settle the crimes of the rogue CCP and quickly dismantle this evil Communist devil that has plagued the world for more than 20 years.
