On October 20, 2025, according to a report by Epoch Times, FBI Director Kash Patel stated on Sunday, October 19, that the Secret Service had discovered a suspicious observation point near Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, from where one could directly view President Trump’s arrival after landing in Air Force One.
Patel mentioned on the social media platform X that the FBI is currently investigating the incident.
According to Fox News, the Secret Service agents discovered the suspicious observation point on Thursday. Patel mentioned that it is still unknown who is linked to this observation point.
“Before the President returned to West Palm Beach, the Secret Service located a suspected elevated hunter observation point within the line of sight of the Air Force One landing area.” Patel informed Fox News, “No individuals were found on site. FBI has since taken the lead on the investigation, airlifting resources to collect all evidence at the scene and deploying our mobile phone analysis capability.”
The communications director of the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, also confirmed that the agency is working “closely together” with the FBI and law enforcement agencies in Palm Beach County.
Guglielmi informed Fox News that agents discovered this suspicious observation point during the “pre-arrival security preparation” before Trump arrived in Palm Beach.
He added, “While we cannot provide detailed information about the specific items or their intent, this incident underscores the importance of our layered security measures.”
A source from a law enforcement agency informed Fox News that the observation point seems to have been set up “several months ago.”
Since running for president, Trump has faced multiple unsuccessful assassination attempts. In September last year, Secret Service agents discovered Ryan Routh outside the “Trump International Golf Club” in West Palm Beach, Florida, crouching in the bushes with a rifle equipped with a scope, with the barrel extended through the fence. Trump was playing golf at the time.
On September 23 this year, the jury ruled that Routh intended to assassinate then-Republican presidential candidate Trump.
