San Diego North County Chinese School Graduation and Closing Ceremony Held

San Diego North County Chinese School held its closing and graduation ceremony at the auditorium of Westview High School on May 11, with over 400 students, teachers, and parents in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

Principal Lin Yuhui expressed her gratitude to the parents for their support in successfully organizing the talent competition and cultural activities hosted by the Parents’ Association. She hoped that the students benefited greatly from their time at the North County Chinese School.

Darshana Patel, a trustee of Poway Unified School District (PUSD), congratulated the graduates and wished them a bright future.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to senior teachers, outstanding teachers, administrative staff, cover design of the yearbook, and various scholarships. The perfect attendance scholarship was provided by Mr. Du Wuqing and Mrs. Zhang Lin from the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission; the Long-Term Chinese Learning Scholarship was established by Mr. Wang Shenshu and Mrs. Zheng Fengqian, both members of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission; and the graduation scholarship was generously sponsored by Mr. Wu Rongfu from New Technology Company.

The ceremony also included the transition of leadership from the outgoing principal, Ms. Lin Yuhui, to the incoming principal, Ms. Lin Yuying.

This year, seven students graduated, namely Qian Xiangmei, Huang Weiling, Luo Junwen, Mei Fangting, Wu Jiarong, Yang Jianzhou, and Li Yien. Teachers praised their diligence in learning, outstanding academic achievements, remarkable team honors, and the valuable friendships they formed during their time at the school. At the graduation ceremony, the students expressed their gratitude to their parents, school, and teachers, reinforcing their determination to continue learning Chinese.

Students showcased their prepared artistic programs at the ceremony, including rhythmic and vocal medleys, dragon and princess shadow play, Eight Immortals play, Chinese Kung Fu fan performance, recitation of new poems, and recitation of classical Chinese literature by adult students from the Mandarin Learning Center, as well as a diabolo performance. Post-AP students Wu Jiarong, Yu Xiangxi, and Xie Guanting served as the emcees for the cultural performance. #
