Rosa Lee allocates 250,000 yuan to upgrade the auditorium of the 162nd Elementary School

New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic from the 25th district allocated $250,000 for the renovation of the auditorium at Public School 162. The project has been completed and a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on May 23rd.

Rozic, along with PS 162 Principal Eva Sci, students, and parents, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the newly renovated auditorium. The auditorium has been upgraded with new electrical equipment, audio and video systems, lighting, as well as a fresh coat of paint. Following the ribbon-cutting, students performed artistic presentations in the newly equipped auditorium.

“Seeing the students of PS 162 perform in the newly renovated space fills me with joy,” Rozic said. “This investment not only revitalizes the school’s auditorium but also allows the students of PS 162 to cultivate their passion for the performing arts.”

Located on 53rd Avenue in Flushing, PS 162 offers classes from preschool to 5th grade. Rozic’s recent allocations for other projects include $50,000 to the South Asian Social Services food pantry and community programs, and $30,000 to the technology and robotics lab at Solomon Schechter School in Queens.

At the start of the academic year, Rozic announced a $580,000 funding for upgrading gymnasiums and auditoriums at three schools in the 25th and 26th districts, including IS 74, PS 162, and PS 24. These allocations aim to enhance the educational environment and opportunities for students in the district.
