Shanghai human rights activist Song Jiahong, a victim of the Chinese Communist Party’s black prisons, recently released a list titled “Shanghai Black Prison List (Part 1)”. He stated that this list reveals the dire human rights situation in the international metropolis of Shanghai.
“Recently, I will continue to release the ‘China Shanghai Black Prison List’. I hope to draw attention from all sectors of society,” Song Jiahong said.
In the “China Shanghai Black Prison List (Part 1)”, Song Jiahong pointed out that “in order to achieve the political achievement of ‘zero petitioning’, the Shanghai government has violated relevant regulations of the ‘Petition Work Regulations’, turning various hotels, restaurants, inns, and rural home stays in the outskirts into ‘black prisons’ used to detain petitioners heading to Beijing for human rights protection. They hire people to restrict their personal freedom, even snatching their mobile phones to prevent them from contacting their families, leading to a significant regression in the level of civilization in Chinese society.”
The black prison list includes 35 privately operated locations by the Shanghai government where petitioners are detained. The information is sourced from petitioners publicly disclosing this information on the internet, compiled by Song Jiahong after investigation. Below is the list of black prisons in various districts of Shanghai:
1. “Baolong Hotel”, 152 Panyuan Road, Changxing Town. Petitioners Yang Lamei, female, 68 years old, detained for 2 days; Liang Xiuying, female, 72 years old, detained for 20 days. Responsible unit: Huangpu District Petition Office.
2. “Yanchang Rural Homestay”, 573 Qianwei Village, Shuixin Town. Petitioner Chen Guoying, female, 60 years old, detained for 15 days. Responsible unit: Jing’an District Shimen Er Road Street.
3. Private rural homestay by Taoyuan Village, Jiangbian 606, Baozhen Town. Petitioner Zhang Yanhong, female, 40 years old, detained for 16 days. Responsible unit: Jing’an District Xinjing’an Group.
