Shanghai human rights activist Song Jiahong is one of the victims of the Chinese Communist Party’s secret detention centers, and recently he released a list of “Shanghai Black Jails,” revealing the dire human rights situation in the international metropolis of Shanghai.
In an exclusive interview with The Epoch Times, Song Jiahong disclosed that “there have been (cases of unknown deaths). Xu Jianming, a petitioner from Jinshan District, discovered that his intestines were ‘rotten’ shortly after being released from the black jail. He spent nearly half a year in the hospital before passing away with resentment. Another petitioner, Zhou Jingzhi from Putuo District, said ‘I was injected with poison’ as soon as he returned home from the black jail and passed away in confusion. Therefore, in order for Chinese people to live decently, we must bravely expose these black jails.”
He stated, “The emergence of black jails is a retrogression of our society, affecting every citizen, a tragedy for the entire city of Shanghai! I hope that friends who have been persecuted in black jails will come together to expose these dark corners of Shanghai, to contribute to themselves and society.”
The “Shanghai Black Jails List (Part 7)” records 15 privately established detention centers by the Shanghai government for holding petitioners, totaling 121 black jails so far. The information is sourced from petitioners publicly sharing on the internet, compiled by Song Jiahong after investigation.
Below are the black jail lists in various districts of Shanghai:
Chongming District:

Petitioner Zhong Jihong, female, 62 years old, imprisoned here for 12 days, responsible unit is Jing’an District Tianmu West Road Street Office.
Petitioner Gao Fuxing, male, 75 years old, imprisoned here for 147 days, responsible unit is Shanghai Jing’an District Government.
2. “Juyinzhuang Resort.”
