Shanghai human rights activist Song Jiahong is one of the victims of the Chinese Communist Party’s “black jails,” and he recently released a list titled “Shanghai Black Jails Registry,” stating that it represents the worst human rights situation in the current international metropolis of Shanghai.
According to Song Jiahong, “The Shanghai Black Jails Registry has now reached sixty locations, with detailed addresses, regions, as well as the duration of victims’ confinement and responsible units, providing accurate, reliable, and timely information.”
The Shanghai Black Jails Registry (Part 3) includes 12 privately established black jail locations by the Shanghai government for detaining petitioners, with information sourced from petitions publicly available on the internet, compiled by Song Jiahong after investigation. Here is the list of black jails in various districts of Shanghai:
Chongming District:
1. “Royal Hotel” on Changxing Island. Petitioner Lu Limin, detained here for a total of 60 days; petitioner Hua Xiuzhen, female, 76 years old, detained here for 56 days. Responsible unit: Yangpu District People’s Government.
2. “Orange Town” at 478 North Xingqi Road, Xing Island. Petitioner Wu Ruixia, female, detained here for 42 days. Responsible unit: Yangpu District People’s Government.
3. “Tianya Resort” at 419 Shilu Village, Xinhe Town. Petitioner Gu Xinbing, male, around 50 years old, detained here for 4 days; petitioner Yang Huijuan, detained here for 50 days. Responsible unit: Xinhe Town, Chongming District.
Fengxian District:
1. “Dragon Guesthouse” in Zhelin Town. Petitioner Qian Delong, male, 65 years old, detained here for 18 days. Responsible units: Fengxian District Government and Jinhui Town Government.
2. 405 Haiban Village, Zhelin Town. Petitioner Qian Delong, male, 65 years old, detained here for 8 days; petitioner Hua Xiuzhen, female, 76 years old, detained here for 56 days. Responsible units: Fengxian District Government and Jinhui Town Government.
3. 650 Liyao Village, Qingcun Town. Petitioner Qian Delong, male, 65 years old, detained here for 7 days; petitioner Hua Xiuzhen, female, 76 years old, detained here for 56 days. Responsible units: Fengxian District Government and Jinhui Town Government.
Yangpu District:
1. “Shanghai Dahe Hotel” at 786 Yingkou Road. Petitioner Lu Limin, detained here for 102 days. Responsible unit: Yangpu District People’s Government.
2. “Forest Park Villa” on 2000 Jungong Road. Petitioner Lu Limin, detained here for 99 days. Responsible unit: Yangpu District People’s Government.
Pudong New Area:
1. “Puqing Hotel” at 80 Lutuan Puxin Road, Chuansha Town. Petitioner Wang Yufang, female, 63 years old, detained here for 15 days. Responsible unit: Pudong New Area People’s Government.
2. “Hanting Hotel” at 5835 Nanzhu Road. Petitioner Jin Meizhen, female, 73 years old, detained here for 32 days. Responsible unit: Pudong New Area Zhuqiao Town People’s Government.
Hongkou District:
1. “Haiyou Hotel” at 71 Helen Road. Petitioner Fan Wenzhu, female, nearly 80 years old, detained here for 38 days. Responsible units: Hongkou District People’s Court and Hongkou District People’s Government.
Songjiang District:
1. “Super 8 Hotel” at 128 Zhongxin Road, Jiuting Town. Petitioner Wang Lanying, detained here for 79 days. Responsible unit: Jiuting Town People’s Government.
