Residents in which regions of Australia have the highest level of happiness

A recent study has revealed that the happiest regions in Australia are predominantly located in Sydney, especially around the Northern Beaches area.

The latest report from SGS Economics and Planning in Australia analyzed data from 518 local government areas across the country in areas such as economy, housing, health, environment, income, wealth, employment, and skills. The report listed the top 10 regions in Australia with the highest happiness index, with 8 of them in Sydney, and the remaining two in Brisbane and the capital territory.

The top 10 regions are as follows: Sydney Northern Beaches, Capital Territory, North Sydney, Ku-ring-gai in Sydney, Hornsby in Sydney, Lane Cove in Sydney, Mosman, Sutherland in Sydney, Sydney CBD, and Brisbane.

The report indicates that the regions with the highest happiness index in New South Wales are primarily located in Greater Sydney, especially in the affluent northern areas. These regions scored higher in education, health, income, wealth, equality, and work-life balance.

The happiest remote regions in New South Wales are Wingecarribee, Blue Mountains, and Queanbeyan-Palerang. These areas scored higher in areas such as environment, income, wealth, equality, community, and work-life balance.

The report also found that residents in capital cities have longer life expectancies and lower chances of chronic illnesses. The life expectancy for residents of Greater Sydney is 84.3 years, compared to 81.7 years in remote areas of New South Wales.

The regions with the poorest health performance in Australia are also located in New South Wales, with Walgett, Coonamble, and Bourke ranking the lowest.

The areas with the highest housing affordability are Lockhart in southwestern New South Wales, Bogan in the Orana region, and Esperance in Western Australia.

Julian Szafraniec, the head of SGS, expressed hopes that the report would inspire people to think about where to invest and what choices to make for the future.
