Renowned writer Ying Zhihong holds CCP documents, Mainland Affairs Council: Taiwan household registration to be invalidated.

On September 13, 2025, a Taiwan-born man named Ying Zhihong claimed to hold Chinese mainland citizenship and in a social media live stream, he cut up his Republic of China (Taiwan) passport. The Mainland Affairs Council of the Republic of China stated today that Ying Zhihong’s Taiwan identity has been revoked as he holds a Chinese Communist Party passport and identification.

Ying Zhihong operates a social media account in mainland China called “Taiwan Patriotic Youth Ying Zhihong – Long Live China.” In a recent live stream, he displayed his CCP passport, shouted “Love China,” and proceeded to cut up his Republic of China passport, claiming he could return to Taiwan using his Chinese mainland identity.

The Mainland Affairs Council of the Republic of China explained that Ying Zhihong, who is wanted by the Taitung District Prosecutor’s Office for fraud, has been on the run since 2021 without returning to Taiwan. It was discovered that Ying Zhihong had previously stated in an online live video that he had obtained CCP identification and a passport, and he publicly displayed these documents.

The Council confirmed that Ying Zhihong has indeed obtained CCP identification and a passport and has coordinated with relevant authorities to revoke his Taiwan household registration and Republic of China passport in accordance with the law.

Although Ying Zhihong’s Taiwan identity has been revoked, the Council emphasized that he is not exempt from his responsibilities and obligations. Judicial authorities will continue to pursue him in accordance with Article 9-1 of the Cross-Strait Relations Act.

The Council urges the public not to trust fugitives who claim to love the “motherland” but have fled to the mainland due to criminal charges.
