Queen’s East District: Serial Commercial Robbery, Thieves Committing Crimes in the Early Morning, Thieves Wearing Masks

New York City police department announced on October 6th that there have been 7 consecutive cases of commercial theft patterns in the East Queens area recently. These incidents occurred in the early hours and were concentrated in the jurisdiction of the 111th precinct on Northern Boulevard and the 109th precinct on 1162nd Street. The thieves were masked.

From August 7th to 10th, 4 cases of commercial theft occurred in the 111th precinct area at the intersection of Northern Boulevard with 209th and 210th Streets, involving 4 businesses. The thieves stole varying amounts of cash ranging from 100 to 600 dollars from the drawers and cash registers of three of the businesses, with one attempted theft. The incidents mostly took place around 4 a.m.

On August 18th, two cases occurred at adjacent businesses on 162nd Street in Flushing, at 41-23 and 41-19 addresses. The thefts took place at 4:15 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. respectively, with the thieves stealing 6,500 dollars and 1,000 dollars from a safe and cash register.

One incident took place in the early hours of August 14th at 3:30 a.m., where a thief stole 650 dollars from a business located at 253-23 Union Turnpike.

The police released photos of two masked thieves and called on the public to assist in solving the cases.
