“Qiaozhou 2024 Taiwan Cup Golf Open Successfully Concludes”

The 2024 Taiwan Cup Golf Open, organized by the Taiwan Golf Association in Georgia, took place at Bear’s Best Golf Course on May 5th. Golfers achieved great results, and the competition concluded successfully.

Despite the thunderstorms in the early morning, the weather gradually cleared up just before the start of the tournament. After the competition ended, heavy rain poured down, prompting the golfers to express their profound gratitude for the fortunate timing that allowed the event to proceed smoothly.

At 9:00 am on the morning of the event, players officially checked in and received commemorative gifts along with a sumptuous breakfast. The spread included Taiwanese sandwiches made by Dodo, authentic Taiwanese intestines and oyster vermicelli made by Su Jie, and pineapple cakes imported from Taiwan by air freight, all of which received rave reviews from all participants.

At 10:30 am, there was a group photo session and a briefing on the competition rules before the official start of the tournament at 11:00 am.

Players swung their clubs, sending golf balls soaring through the air and rolling on the fairways, creating dynamic scenes. They pushed their limits and fostered friendships among each other.

The results of the Taiwan Cup competition are as follows:

Women’s Division:

Champion – Patricia with 78 strokes

Runner-Up – Grace Lu with 86 strokes

Third Place – Yin Yiin Lo with 89 strokes

Men’s Division:

Champion – Tony Yang with 77 strokes

Runner-Up – Yongqing Yu with 80 strokes

Third Place – Jun Shao with 81 strokes

Gene Shi with 82 strokes

Bill Lee with 82 strokes

Longest Drive Awards:

Neng Yen and Andy Peter’s in the women’s division and Andy Peter in the men’s division received the Longest Drive Award at the seventh hole. Raymond Chen secured the Closest to the Pin Award at the third hole, John Wu at the sixth hole, Chen Yingwei at the eleventh hole, and Raymond Ho at the sixteenth hole.

The organizers congratulated the winning players on their outstanding performance, thanked all participants and guests for their involvement, and acknowledged the support from numerous enthusiastic friends and sponsors.

After the tournament, an award ceremony banquet was held at the luxurious and grand Golden Crown Restaurant. The evening began with a Taiwanese shaved ice feast prepared by Su Jie, featuring a variety of delightful toppings to relieve fatigue from the competition. Additionally, teammates generously sponsored red wine, as well as Taiwanese specialties like herbal jelly, apple cider, and black tea. The banquet was filled with joyous conversations and indulgence in delicious food and fine wine.

A raffle with gifts worth a total of 7,000 dollars and nearly 250 items became the highlight of the evening, adding an exciting and suspenseful atmosphere to the event.

During the banquet, dance lovers at the venue were led by Teacher An Fang to perform two lively and spontaneous dance routines, creating a relaxing and joyous atmosphere.

The organizers expressed gratitude to Bear’s Best Golf Club for their meticulous service, appreciated the sponsorship from all the enthusiastic friends, and recognized the exceptional contributions of a dedicated team of professionals.

The Georgia Taiwan Golf Association attributed the resounding success of the Taiwan Cup to the support of all participating players and sponsors and looks forward to another gathering next year.
