Police offer reward of 3500 dollars to catch group responsible for robberies in Brooklyn’s Chinese community.

In recent times, a criminal gang has emerged in the Brooklyn Chinese community, with thugs often using two-wheeled vehicles to rob individuals in specific areas of the community at night. The victims are mostly people walking alone late at night. The criminals swiftly snatch belongings using violence or threatening with firearms before escaping. Currently, the known victims have been targeted during the late-night hours. The police have offered a reward of $3,500 for the capture of the suspects and urge the public to actively provide clues to solve the cases.

According to information released by the New York City Police Department’s (DCPI) Public Information Office, 9 related incidents have occurred within the jurisdiction of the 66th, 68th, and 72nd precincts. Data from the police department indicates that the criminals may be very familiar with the local Brooklyn community, as the crimes occur at night, specifically between 10:00 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. All 9 related incidents involved the use of two-wheeled vehicles (possibly motorcycles or electric bikes) as crime tools and implicate two suspects.

The most recent incident took place on the night of June 28 at 11:35 p.m. when two suspects riding two-wheeled vehicles approached a 46-year-old male victim near 1047 Ovington Ave. They pointed a gun at the victim, forcibly removed his necklace and bracelet, then fled on their bikes. Fortunately, the victim in this case was not physically harmed, and the authorities have provided the description of one suspect only.

On the night of June 12, the criminals targeted 24-year-old and 38-year-old women separately at 6200 Fort Hamilton Parkway and 878 54th St.

On the night of June 15, they targeted a 29-year-old woman, a 72-year-old elderly person, and a 54-year-old man at 4409 6th Ave, 653 57th St, and 847 55th St.

On the night of June 28, they targeted a 30-year-old man, a 39-year-old man, and a 47-year-old woman at 1250 73rd St, 624 53rd St, and 6707 10th Ave respectively.

The police stated that the criminals often use violent methods such as dragging victims to the ground, physical assault, and firearm threats while robbing individuals. Therefore, it is advised to avoid going out alone near these locations and during these time frames.
