Photo Report: 24th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks commemorated in the United States

September 11, 2025 marked the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States. The nation held multiple commemorations to honor the nearly 3,000 victims who lost their lives in the tragic events of 2001.

As these commemorative events took place, the political atmosphere within the United States was heating up. Well-known conservative activist and ally of President Trump, Charlie Kirk, was tragically shot and killed during a speech at a university in Utah on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through American politics and society.

On Thursday morning, President Trump and First Lady Melania appeared at the Pentagon to attend the 24th-anniversary ceremony of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In his speech, Trump emphasized that the American spirit will not cower in the face of fear and violence. He also announced the posthumous awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Kirk, recognizing his contributions to upholding American values.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also spoke at the ceremony, mourning Kirk’s passing and criticizing the previous administration for weaponizing war and turning it into a tool for implementing “global social engineering,” all in pursuit of utopian ideals.

On September 11, 24 years ago, four commercial planes were hijacked by the terrorist organization al-Qaeda. Subsequently, they were used in suicide attacks, targeting the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and crashing one plane in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This series of attacks resulted in the tragic loss of 2,977 lives.
