On June 14th, which is both Flag Day and the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Army, the New Century Company in Deer Park, Orange County, New York, hosted the third annual “America the Beautiful Festival.” The event aimed to bring people together to express respect and recognition for traditional American values.
The event opened with a performance of the national anthem by Sgt. Maj. MaryKay Messenger, the lead singer of the West Point Band. Additionally, several renowned American singers such as Coffey Anderson, Dave Bray, Tayla Rees, Fiddle Frenzy, Katy Mantyk & Vic May, Jordan Stoner, and Sofie Tabesh were invited to perform live.
Local officials including Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus, Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta, and Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler were also present at the event.
According to Jin Pang, one of the event organizers, this year’s festival featured over a hundred booths selling a variety of foods, drinks, clothing, handicrafts, and unique gifts. “Compared to previous years, we have added more family-friendly activities this year, including a children’s carnival and various entertainment programs. While the kids have a great time playing, adults can relax and enjoy the music and food.”
The festival also included the “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance International Art Exhibition” and two creative competitions in writing and painting. At 9 p.m., a spectacular fireworks display lit up the night sky, bringing the celebratory event to a climax.
