This street park is home to a statue of the Goddess of Democracy from Tiananmen Square, also known as the Monument to the Victims of Communism. Seventeen years ago on June 12, President Bush attended the unveiling ceremony of the monument and said in his speech, “Evil is real and must be confronted.”
