This Thursday, the “July 4th Independence Day Parade,” one of the grandest national celebrations in America, took place in Huntington Beach, Southern California.
This event, now in its 120th year, has become the grandest Independence Day celebration west of the Mississippi River. Local dignitaries including the Mayor of Huntington Beach, city council members, Orange County state lawmakers, local prosecutors, as well as California cowgirls, cherry blossom princesses, Taiwanese-American beauty queens, and other public figures, all dressed up and joined the parade to celebrate America’s traditions and values of freedom.
Over 100 groups participated in the parade, including marching bands, floats, and veteran groups. They marched along Main Street in the city center, with thousands of spectators lining the roadsides waving and cheering.
This parade not only paid tribute to America and united the community, but it also brought a flow of customers to local businesses.
Eric Parra, Chief of the Huntington Beach Police Department, stated that approximately 500,000 people participated in the celebration and enjoyed a joyful time.
