Photo Gallery: Hong Kong Level 5 Fire Forces Residents to Evacuate to Temporary Shelter Centers

In Hong Kong, a fire broke out at the Nam Fok Yuen in Tai Po, with flames raging fiercely, escalating the fire to a level 5 emergency in the evening. The Tai Po District Office has opened the Kwong Fuk Community Hall (Kwong Fuk Estate, Tai Po) and the Tung Cheong Street Community Hall (1/F, Tai Po Tung Cheong Street Sports Centre, 25 Tung Cheong Street, Tai Po) as temporary shelters for residents in need. The Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance Fung Leung Kit Memorial Secondary School has also been opened to accommodate evacuated residents.

In addition, the District Office has set up an aid station at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital to provide assistance and information for residents. The hotline for the aid station is 2658 4040.

Residents are urged to stay informed and follow instructions from emergency personnel.
