The United States presidential election has reached a critical moment as Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris officially nominated Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday morning. The two immediately embarked on a five-day intensive campaign, visiting seven swing states in the Midwest to rally support for the Democratic Party.

On Tuesday evening, Kamala Harris, also known as Kamala Harris, made her first appearance as the Democratic presidential candidate alongside her newly chosen running mate, Tim Walz, at a campaign rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where they both delivered speeches.

Harris told supporters that since announcing her candidacy, she has been looking for a partner who can help build a brighter future, unite America, and move the country forward, a leader who fights for the middle class and shares her unwavering belief in America’s extraordinary promise. She emphasized that Walz is the right choice for this role and stressed that the campaign is not just a competition against the Republican presidential candidate Trump, but a fight for the future to defend the most basic freedoms of the nation.

In his speech, Walz focused on showcasing his down-to-earth image while also criticizing Trump and his running mate Vance, saying that their “way of looking at the world is different from ours.”

On Wednesday, Harris and her running mate Walz continued their campaign with events in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Detroit, Michigan, where the atmosphere was exceptionally enthusiastic. Harris said at the event in Eau Claire, “I am very clear that with your help, we will win in November. We will definitely win.”

Harris’s campaign team announced that since Walz was announced as the running mate, they have raised $36 million.

Next, Harris and Walz will visit battleground states including North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada to continue holding campaign events. The main focus of the Democratic Party’s events this week is to introduce Walz to voters, while the Chinese community is particularly interested in his stance on China.

According to Voice of America, former President Trump responded in an interview on Wednesday morning, calling Harris’s choice of Walz as her running mate “shocking” and labeling Walz as “very liberal,” suggesting that he is more radical than Harris on key issues such as immigration and crime.

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has gained support from about 70% of African American voters, surpassing the support President Joe Biden received during his campaign (59%). Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate Trump’s support among white voters has slightly increased over the past few months from 46% in May/June to 50% in July.
