On Monday, November 24th, the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, received a Christmas tree at the White House that was delivered by a traditional carriage, officially kicking off the holiday season in Washington D.C.
Midday on Monday, accompanied by the U.S. Marine Corps Band, a carriage carrying this giant Christmas tree slowly made its way towards the White House, marked with the words “2025 White House Christmas Tree.” This white fir tree originated from Korson’s Tree Farms in West Coney Township, Michigan, originally standing at about 25 feet high before being trimmed down to 19.5 feet to meet the height requirements of the Blue Room in the White House.
After the carriage was properly parked, Melania Trump, under the escort of military aides, descended the steps from the North Portico with her signature bright smile to greet this special moment. She briefly inspected the tree, then shook hands and thanked the Korson family members who donated it, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
On that day, Melania Trump was dressed elegantly in a soft white mid-sleeve coat with a matching belt around her waist, paired with plaid high heels and eye-catching red leather gloves. The soft texture of the off-white color complemented by the festive touch of the red gloves created a clever harmony, maintaining her consistent elegant style while adding a warm holiday atmosphere to the White House.
Since 1966, the National Christmas Tree Association has been holding an annual Christmas tree competition. Following tradition, the winning tree is donated to the White House and displayed in the Blue Room, where it is decorated by the First Lady, while the runner-up tree is provided to the Vice President’s residence.
