The highly anticipated Democratic National Convention in the United States opened in Chicago, Illinois on Monday (August 19th). Vice President Kamala Harris will formally accept the party’s nomination for president during the four-day convention. This marks the official passing of the baton from President Biden, who announced his withdrawal from the race last month.

The themes for these four days are “For the People,” “A Bold Vision for America’s Future,” “Fighting for Our Freedom,” and “For Our Future.”

The organizers predict that the four-day Democratic National Convention will host approximately 50,000 visitors, 20,000 media members, and 5,500 delegates, alternate delegates, and other guests attending the convention.
