Photo Gallery: Celebration Event Held in Taipei for President Lai Ching-te’s Inauguration

Taiwan’s 16th President, Tsai Ing-wen, and Vice President, Xiu Meiqin, were inaugurated on May 20th. The inauguration ceremony took place in front of the Presidential Office in Taipei, Taiwan.

On the 20th of May, the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of China, Tsai Ing-wen, and Vice President, Xiu Meiqin, was held in Taipei, Taiwan.

On that day, the President and Vice President-elect took their oaths of office inside the Grand Ballroom of the Presidential Office. After the inauguration ceremony, the newly inaugurated and outgoing presidents greeted the crowd at the square in front of the office, followed by the commencement of the celebratory event.

The inauguration celebration featured performances by the Republic of China Military Band and various groups, with the national military firing a 21-gun salute and singing the national anthem.

The celebration event also included performances such as “Weaving Taiwan Together” and “Marching Towards Democracy,” the President’s inaugural address, an aerial flag-raising ceremony to pay respect to the national leaders, a grand chorus, and the highlight performance by the Thunder Tiger Corps.

This grand event marked a significant moment in the history of Taiwan as the new President and Vice President officially took office amidst enthusiastic celebrations and performances showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage and national pride.
