On Saturday, June 14th, the United States Army celebrated its 250th anniversary with a grand parade in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. Nearly 7,000 soldiers, 150 military vehicles, and over 50 military aircraft participated in the event, which also coincided with Flag Day and President Trump’s 79th birthday.
President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania, Vice President Pence, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth were among the dignitaries present to witness the parade. Originally scheduled for Saturday evening, the parade was moved up due to the possibility of inclement weather later in the day, lasting nearly two hours and concluding successfully.
This grand parade had been a long-awaited event for President Trump, featuring tanks, troops, and a 21-gun salute. Following the parade, President Trump delivered a speech expressing gratitude to all the servicemen and women for their extraordinary dedication and loyalty. He stated that the parade not only showcased the might of the U.S. military but also served as a warning to adversaries, shaping both American and global history.
At the conclusion of the event, President Trump personally administered the enlistment oath for new and reenlisting soldiers. Renowned singer Lee Greenwood performed “God Bless the USA,” culminating in a spectacular fireworks display that heightened the celebratory atmosphere.
During the event, thousands of spectators filled the National Mall, many wearing T-shirts and hats adorned with Army insignia. Retired military personnel proudly sported commemorative hats displaying their service records, while Trump supporters donned thematic attire such as “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) clothing, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere.
